Damp Proof Injection

The chemical Injection Damp Proof Course System has been a proven system for over 38 years. This system is a fast and clean way to protect and repel rising damp from buildings walls.

To determine the extent of the moisture or rising damp in the wall the applicator will check the condition of the skirting boards, the paintwork and the interior of the wall via an inspection hole. A diagnosis can also be made by placing a moisture meter onto the affected wall. The reading of the meter indicates the amount of moisture in the wall.

When starting the work, the tradesmen will remove any skirting boards require to carry out the work, these will be refitted at the end of the job if not damaged by the rising damp. The damp affected plaster is then removed to expose the brickwork or stone walls. A course of brickwork or stone is selected at a suitable height to become the new damp proof course. A series of 10mm holes are then drilled at a required depth and width to the job.

The chemical Injection Pumps lances are then placed into the holes, a seal is formed by a rubber expansion washer, which holds the lances firmly into the brickwork or stone wall.

The Injection fluid is then pumped into the brickwork and fluid is forced under pressure until saturation is visually evident to have taken place. After the drying period the walls are replastered using a Salt Retarder to complete the work. The new render is designed to allow the passage of water vapour, so that the residual moisture can dissipate from the wall and not build up as it previously did before the damp proof work.
